Galena Zhelezova, ACCA has been part of the Aurubis Bulgaria team for 9 years and is the second colleague we present to you in our Talent Spotlight column.

Tell us about yourself...
My name is Galena Zhelezova. I was born in Varna, live in Sofia and work in Pirdop. I am married and have a 4-year-old daughter. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Sofia University and a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting, completed in England. -
Describe yourself in three words?
Ambitious, responsible, positive, but sometimes on bad days impatient, demanding and critical. -
What did you dream about when you were a child and what did you want to become when you grow up?
On my “first steps” baby party I have chosen a calculator and apparently since then it has been predefined that I will handle numbers and calculations, and I have always loved mathematics.

How and when did your career at Aurubis Bulgaria start?
I started working in Aurubis Bulgaria in 2015 as a Control and Planning Supervisor at the Finance Department. -
Why did you choose Aurubis Bulgaria and what do you value in the organization?
I have always wanted to work in a manufacturing company, and Aurubis is a company whose production process is extremely complex and impressive. The final product is widely used and will become even more significant in the future. Aurubis for me is the place where I work with desire and pleasure and challenge myself every day. I highly appreciate my team, the opportunity to work with people from all departments in the company and the security the organization gives to us as an employer. -
What is your current role in the company and what brings you the greatest satisfaction?
Since 2018 I have held the position of Head of Control and Planning. My colleagues and I prepare various reports and analyzes on a daily basis, we make a financial assessment of large investment projects. In just a few years, we can see how everything materializes into an expansion of production, a solar park or new modern equipment. The greatest satisfaction comes when the actual results exceed the estimated calculations.

What kind of person are you and what do you like doing outside Aurubis Bulgaria?
My time outside Aurubis is entirely devoted to my family and friends. I love to travel in and out of Bulgaria and spend time in nature. -
What do you dream of?
I dream of a peaceful and dignified life, surrounded by my family and friends until my old age. -
What would you say to your future self?
Always find time for yourself, family, friends and your favorite activities. -
What would you say to your colleagues at Aurubis Bulgaria?
I thank them for the effort, passion and energy they put into their daily work because they are contagious. Together, working as a team, we contribute to making Aurubis continue to be the largest and one of the most profitable companies in Bulgaria!
