Stanimir Banchev started working at Aurubis Bulgaria as an Electrical Equipment fitter in Refinery Department, and 15 years later he is already the Head of the teams responsible for the maintenance of three of our main production units - Sulphuric Acid Production and Waste Water Treatment, Refinery and Slag Flotation Plant. Stasi is engaged and is about to get married soon. His future wife also works in Aurubis.

My name is Stanimir Banchev, I am 37 years old and I live in the town of Zlatitsa. I graduated in Automation at the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy - Sofia. -
Describe yourself in three words?
Positive, Creative, Communicative. -
What did you dream about when you were a child and what did you want to become when you grow up?
As a child I dreamed of becoming an astronaut and studying space, but when I grew up and started working in Aurubis I discovered that there are more interesting things than space.

How and when did your career at Aurubis Bulgaria start?
My career at Aurubis began in 2009 as a Fitter of electrical equipmentand pneumatics in the Refinery Department. -
Why did you choose Aurubis Bulgaria and what do you value in the organization?
I chose Aurubis because of the good image and high standards. In the organization, I value the most the teamwork and readiness of all colleagues to help each other in difficult situations.. -
What is your current role in the company and what brings you the greatest satisfaction?
I currently perform the functions of Head of Maintenance Sulfuric Acid Production and Waste Water Treatment, Refinery and Slag Flotation. It gives me the greatest satisfaction to see my colleagues smiling.

What kind of person are you and what do you like doing outside Aurubis Bulgaria?
I love to travel, I love long mountain walks, and extreme mountain bike descents. -
How do you see your future in the company and beyond? What do you dream of?
In the company, things are very dynamic and I am sure of only one thing that in the future there will be many more interesting and challenging projects in which I will be useful. I dream that everyone around me is healthy and smiling, everything else is achieved with desire and a little effort. -

Keep going with the same positive vibe! -
What would you say to your colleagues at Aurubis Bulgaria?
Do not focus on small issues, but be positive and make your workplace enjoyable as you spend a lot of time there. Also don’t forget that they are one of the best metallurgists in the world, which is evident from the results of Aurubis Bulgaria.
